CrewRoo has grown faster than I expected since launch. As it did, messages started coming in from contract pilots and flight attendants outside the US, from Canada, the UK and further out, all asking the same thing: when can I use it here?
The honest answer used to be "not yet." CrewRoo was built around US invoicing: dollars, US tax forms, miles at the IRS rate. You can't just switch on another country and call it done. The invoice has to be right for the people paying it.
So we did the work. As of today, CrewRoo is live in Canada and the UK.
For crews in Canada
Invoice in Canadian dollars, or in US dollars when you're billing a US operator.
Add GST or HST with your business number, at the right rate for your client's province. Invoices to clients outside Canada are marked zero-rated.
Log mileage in kilometres at the CRA rate.
Canadian banking details, provinces and postal codes throughout.
For crews in the UK
Invoice in pounds, or in US dollars when your client needs it.
Add VAT with your VAT number if you're registered. Invoices to clients outside the UK are marked outside the scope of UK VAT.
Log mileage in miles at the HMRC rate.
A4 invoices, UK dates and sort-code banking details. If you trade as a limited company, the company number and registered office print on the invoice too.
In both countries
A receipt in another currency takes the amount from your card statement, so the invoice matches what you actually paid. The original amount is kept on the receipt.
Everything else works the same: snap a receipt and it fills itself in, trips are organized by tail number, per diem and flight logs are built in, and the invoice and expense report go to your client as a finished PDF.

One note: in Canada, CrewRoo is available outside Quebec for now, and the app is in English.
